T-shirt pillows are a unique and creative way to repurpose old t-shirts that hold sentimental value. Our company specializes in turning these old t-shirts into home accessories like pillows, blankets, and wall hangings. If you have a lot of shirts lying around, then building a custom blanket for yourself or a loved one is ideal, but if you only have one or two, then the T-shirt pillow is the perfect compromise. These pillows are soft to the touch, mean so much to you, and are great to have around the house.
T-shirt pillows make great gifts for a variety of reasons. First and foremost, they are a one-of-a-kind and sentimental way to celebrate special memories or milestones. Our t-shirt pillows are made with care and attention to detail. We use a simple but effective process to turn your favorite t-shirts into comfortable and stylish pillow covers.
Before we can turn the t-shirts into pillow covers, we need you to prepare them. Each t-shirt contains two panels: the front of the shirt is one panel, and the back of the shirt is the second panel. We ask our customers to cut along the edges of the shirt so the t-shirt is cut perfectly in half. Only the sides that the customer wants to be used are sent to us.
Tip: You can send in material from long-sleeved shirts or sweatshirts. If you are, just remember to cut the sleeve short beforehand and disassemble the panels as normal.
Our pillow covers are constructed with two panels and include a zipper on the bottom of the panels. We offer four sizes: 12", 14", 16", or 18" panels. Keep in mind that the pillow size does largely depend on the size of your shirt. You can then choose the pillow form. You can purchase just the cover or include a poly or a down-filled insert so your pillow is ready to use from the get-go.
Our design team carefully creates the best design by spacing out the colors and graphics when making our blankets. We can also combine smaller chest logos or sleeve logos for an additional cost of $2.50 each. Our goal is to create a design that captures the essence of the t-shirt and celebrates the memories attached to it.
Once the t-shirts have been prepared and the design has been chosen, we begin construction. We use two panels per pillow, one for the front and one for the back. The panels are carefully sewn together, and a zipper is added to the bottom. This allows for easy removal of the pillow insert and washing of the cover.
Once the pillow cover has been constructed, we do a final quality check to ensure that the design is accurate, the seams are secure, and the zipper works properly. We then ship the pillow cover to the customer, ready to be used and enjoyed for years to come.
One of the best things about our t-shirt pillows is that they are easy to care for. Because there is no batting, our pillows are designed to last a long time. You can simply machine wash warm and tumble dry low. Do not use bleach or other harsh, whitening chemicals, as this will cause splotches and can also result in the colors fading over time.
It's important to note that while our pillows are designed to withstand regular use and washing, they should not be over-stuffed. Over-stuffing can cause the seams to stretch and potentially tear. Instead, opt for a moderate amount of filling to ensure your pillow stays in good condition for years to come.
Here at My T-Shirt Blanket, we want to help you give your old shirts a whole new life. If you have many t-shirts lying around and want to give them a new life, then you can compile them into a blanket or even a wall hanging. Don't worry if you don't have the precise number of shirts necessary for the t-shirt blanket size that you want, either, as you can fill in the missing spaces with photos or fleece panels.
So long as the photo size is at least 5MB in size, you can also send us additional photos you want to add to the montage. We'll print out the image onto fabric and include that in the design. Keep in mind this does increase the cost, as we charge $14.95 for each photo panel.
We can add fleece panels as well that match the color of the back fleece to fill in any missing spaces. This also applies if you're making a double-sided blanket but don't have quite enough shirts to make a full blanket.
